This Universal Polarouter watch was given to the crew on the first flight CPH-SFJ-YWG-LAX November 15th, 1954, SK931 OY-KMI Douglas DC-6B together with the return flight LAX-YWG-SF-CPH taking off the same date November 15th, 1954, SK932 LN-LMP Douglas DC-6B.
The Captain on the first leg from CPH was Povl Jensen with a total of 12 crew and Captain on the first leg from LAX was Sven Gibson.
There was approxiamtely 30 crew members who got the watch. There was a lot of VIP guests onboard in both directions. Among others, the three prime ministers, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. They also got the Polarouter watch but in gold.
The watch I bought on the photo was according to the seller ( Lindgren family ) given to SAS Captain Ludvig ¨Ludde¨Lindgren who was a member of the crew.
The Polarouter SAS watch is very rare and I have only identiefied 3 auctions were the watch was sold. Unfortunatly nor SAS or Universal have a complete list of the persons who got the watch.
