This model was produced in the late 1950s by the Douglas Aircraft Model Shop. This model was used by Douglas Aircraft in the Evaluation and Promotion of an early design Proposal for the DC-9 which was named Project 2067. Project 2067 would utilize many of the systems and components of the larger DC-8. It was intended to replace Douglas DC-6B on routes of 2500 miles or less.
